Difference Between Doctors

Anniek had been having a few spells where her lips looked bluer then usual so her cardiologist appointment was bumped up a month and a half so they could see if something was wrong because of the "blue spells".
The cardiologist appointment just made me realize how much I miss the old doctors :-(
Anniek did really well for the echo, and she is up to 30lbs now!!!
Anniek's LPA is still narrow, and her pressures are worse now then they were last time, but the LPA is not bad enough that they want to do a lung scan again. They also do not know why she is having blue spells. But if she has one that lasts 20 minutes or more I am to bring her in to the hospital. The new doctor wants to see her again in 9 months....she had originally said a year, but I said I didn't feel comfortable with that and asked for 6 months (the old doctors would have done that without a problem) so the new doctor said 9 months.
I also asked if we could set the lung scan for before her next appointment, which the old doctors would have done, but the new doctor wants to wait till she sees Anniek again. We KNOW it is going to have to be done and I much rather have it set up for before the next appointment so that the doctor will have the results for the appointment! I wish the new doctor was more like the old doctors on stuff like this.

Cold and Flu Season

Cold and flu season is defiantly NOT my favorite time of year. I love how the trees look when the leaves change, but I do not like the germs that go around! This cold and flu season has not started out very well for us. Anniek was sick with a fever at the beginning of October and ended up on antibiotics for an ear infection...she was fine a couple days after the antibiotics started, and for the rest of the 10 days that she was on them. The day after I gave her the last dose of antibiotics she ends up with ANOTHER fever...GREAT! So off we go to the after hours doctors (seeing as it is Monday night) and he barely looks at her and says that she is fine. She still had a fever on Friday so the family doctor saw her and she was on antibiotics again...the second time in October! Saturday her fever finally broke and she has been fine since then...other then the fever she got from a reaction to the H1N1 shot. We were both able to get it because of Anniek having a compromised immune system...we had to wait 3 HOURS in line to get the shot!!! Of course about 20 minutes after getting in line Anniek announces that she "HAS TO GO PEE" so I had to call someone to come stand in line so that I could take her to go to the bathroom...or take her to the bathroom while I stood in line. We both had sore arms the morning after we got the shot...and Anniek had a low grade fever from the shot, but I am glad that we both got it and don't have to worry about it. I am hoping that the rest of the cold and flu season won't be as bad as the start of the season has been!

London Moms Picnic

We went to the London Moms Picnic yesterday and Anniek got her face painted for the first time...She wanted her face painted like a kitty and the face painter used colors to match to the shirt that she was wearing! Every time the face painter went to do her nose she would laugh and scrunch up her nose because it tickled her, but he did a good job!

Time

It is amazing how much someone can change over time. I got new day care pictures of Anniek and the change is amazing!!! She looks so much older compared to last year, let along the year before!!! She no longer has the baby look to her...it is like she turned into a "big girl" over night!!!

1 More Year!!!

Anniek had her cardiologist appointment today and we got to meet the new cardiologist, but I do not remember what the name is of the one that we saw...or if that is Anniek's cardiologist. They had scheduled us in for today when her old cardiologist was still here and apparently forgot to put that she had an appointment today when the cardiologist left so they were surprised to see us...but we still got the appointment today.
Anniek didn't cry at all for the EKG for the first time! Anniek is also up to 26.7 lbs now...she let the nurse weigh her and measure her like a champ! She also let the nurse take her O2 sats no problem this time...and for the first time in I couldn't tell you how long she let someone take her blood pressure and she even stayed nice and still for them...not only 1 time but 2 times on her arm and 2 times on her leg!!!
For the Echo Anniek laid down for the tech very well and held onto her stuffed cat and watched Dora. Then after her Echo was done Anniek wanted the cat to have one too...so the tech let Anniek give her cat an "Echo" and seeing as the cat obviously didn't have a heart to get pictures of she put Anniek's heart on the screen for her to see!
The cardiologist said that Anniek's LPA is narrow (big surprise...it always is). It is narrower then it was last time but she thinks that it will be fine for now. She wants to do more tests after Anniek's next Echo, like a lung scan, but she feels that Anniek will be fine for the next year...so we do not have to go back for another YEAR!!! I am not sure how I feel about this with her LPA being more narrow then last time and them feeling that she will need the lung scan after her next appointment. I even double checked that they were SURE that they don't want to see her for another year because of this...and they said that they were sure.
While at the appointment we also got to see Yale, he was stopping in to say "Hi" to everyone...He is so cute in his pictures...but SO much cuter in person!

Shaken Up :-(

Anniek is in the Sea Turtle swim lessons at the Aquatic Center on Mondays. During the class on Monday, January 12 Anniek's instructor turned her back on my daughter to hold up the other child in her class while he "swam" to the divider and back leaving Anniek by the wall.
Just as the instructor and the other child got close to the divider Anniek lost her footing and went under the water and the teacher did not even notice!
When Anniek resurfaced she seemed to take a quick breath but then went under again. As soon as I saw Anniek go under again, I got up and jumped in the pool fully clothed and grabbed her...which is when the teacher noticed that something was wrong!
The teacher said she was sorry that this happened and continued on with her lesson. She didn't mention the incident to anyone. I just sat there with Anniek on my lap trying to get her to go back in...with a life jacket on but she wouldn't. All Anniek wanted to do was sit on my lap for about the next 30 minutes. I then had to go home in soaked clothes.
When I got home I called my mom because I was very upset but I had no clue what to say to them or who to talk to...I had tried calling JoAnn to find out what to do but she was not home. My Mom called the Aquatic Center and talked to the Deck Supervisor who was upset that he had not heard about it as SOON as it had happened!!! But the teacher decided not to tell him and did not have an incident report filled out. I am so angry at the instructor...this should NOT have happened in any class, let alone in a class where there was 1 instructor and 2 children.
I called today and talked to the Aquatic Center manager to make sure an incident report is completed in order to make sure that they undergo the necessary steps to ensure this does not happen again. I asked for a copy of the incident report and was told I could pick one up at the Aquatic Center. The manager said that there was NO WAY that the instructor should have had her back turned and she should not ever be that far away from any child in the class...and there is no reason that a situation should have arisen that made it necessary for me to jump in to save my daughter's life. This was a terrible and frightening experience for both Anniek and me.
